Dr. Finklea is a health physicist within the National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She serves as a subject matter expert for emergency preparedness and response activities as well as computational modeling for radiation protection. She is the lead subject matter expert for Community Reception Centers and the creator of SimPLER, a software to assist states with planning and visualizing gaps in their response plans. Recently, she has designed This is a TEST, a training and tabletop exercise simulation tool- a fully cooperative board game that can be used by jurisdictions to exercise emergency response plans for public health emergencies.
