Dr. Steve Webb is an award-winning educator, retired law enforcement officer, and founder of Safe School Systems- Safety and Security Consulting Services. He is a nationally known motivational speaker and the best-selling author of Education in a Violent World: A Practical Guide to Keeping Our Kids Safe. Dr. Webb has been recognized by the National School Resource Officers Association with the “Distinguished Service Award of Excellence” and named a “Leader Among Us” by the Southern Business Journal. He is a certified ALICE Active Shooter Response Instructor, a RAIDER Solo Engagement Rapid Response Trainer for law enforcement and security, a Board-Certified Workplace Violence and Threat Assessment Specialist and a certified John Maxwell Keynote Speaker. Dr. Webb has also been a school administrator for 33 years where he was named “Superintendent of Distinction” in 2019, the “Illinois Superintendent of the Year” in 2022 and is currently an Associate Professor in Educational Administration at Southern Illinois University. He was one of 154 school safety specialists from across the nation to be invited to tour the Marjory Stoneman Douglas crime scene in 2023 and will discuss this experience and the lessons learned from this tragedy.
